This is the door of the 1st studio I had after I graduated with my MFA from Tyler School of Art. It is on the 2nd Floor of 1205 N. 4th Street. I was very interested in making incredibly subtle work that relies on lighting to reveal itself. A lot of the shading in this painting depends on the angle of the viewer relative to the painting, since its appearance changes depending on how the light hits the raised brushstrokes. Unfortunately, that makes it difficult to document.
