An original oil painting by Brooke Lanier.
This oil painting of the interior of the SS United States features an eerie shot of an old, grey pool, illuminated by flashlight. The blueish hues of the back wall combine with the yellow tint of the flashlight to create a greenish corona of light on the edges of the painting.
The SS United States was a luxury ocean liner that thousands of people took on transatlantic vacations. This pool has likely been empty for almost 60 years now, but will soon be full of water again once it's sunk.
