This is a highly textured painting of the port bow of the SS United States, America's Flagship. The grid-like pattern is a result of where a chain rubbed away paint in a parabolic arc as the ship was towed to Turkey to have the asbestos removed. The ship is being sunk as the world's largest artificial reef off the coast of Okaloosa County, Florida.
