This is a portion of the SS United States that most people did not see even during her years in service. It is a crew area on one of her upper decks looking towards the stern. The windbreaks and beams frame the sky and water beautifully, and I love the strong geometric shapes. I find the textures and patina that weathering has created to be beautiful and complex in a way that fresh paint never captures my imagination.
