This panel's sides are painted orange and give the wall on which it is hung a subtle glow of reflected light.  The painting is absolutely impossible to photograph accurately, since the textured surface casts its own shadows, and the colors are more subtle  than digital photography likes to acknowledge.  The stripes closest to the center have a more pinkish hue, for example. All paintings are better in person.
